After earning his medical degree at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and completing a psychiatry residency at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in Nigeria, Dr. Salisu attended Central Michigan University, Saginaw, for a second psychiatry residency. He went on to undergo an addiction psychiatry fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles with a special interest in global mental health. Dr. Salisu offers treatment and a recovery program for opioid addiction and other forms of substance abuse. As a psychiatrist, he listens to every patient and works well with diverse patient populations. He has years of experience working with veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
